OSRS High Alch Calculator
Enter an item's high alch value, its Grand Exchange price, and the current nature rune price. The calculator returns your profit per cast, profit per hour, the break-even buy price, and the Magic experience you earn along the way. There is no GE tax on alching, so the maths is simple. Everything runs in your browser.
Formula: profit per cast = alch value − item price − nature rune price. There is no Grand Exchange tax on alching. High Alchemy gives 65 Magic XP per cast. All numbers are estimates; live GE prices move.
How high alch profit works
High Level Alchemy turns an item directly into coins equal to its fixed high alch value. Each cast costs one nature rune (a fire staff removes the fire rune cost). So your profit on a single cast is the alch value minus what you paid for the item minus the nature rune. If that number is positive, every cast makes gold and 65 Magic experience at the same time.
- Profit per cast: high alch value − item price − nature rune price.
- Break-even buy price: the most you can pay for the item and still not lose money = alch value − nature rune price.
- Profit per hour: profit per cast × casts per hour. Around 1,200 casts per hour is a common rate.
- Magic XP: 65 per cast, which is why alching is often used to train Magic while breaking even or better.
What this calculator does not tell you
It does not account for the item's 4-hour buy limit, which caps how many you can buy to alch in one window, or for how quickly the item's GE price will drift as others do the same. It also does not include the small nature rune price movements over time. You can find any item's high alch value and live GE price on its GE IQ item page.
