F2P OSRS Flipping

You can flip in free-to-play. The universe of items is smaller and some strategies simply do not exist without members, but the mechanics are the same and the market is still deep enough to grow a bankroll if you pick your categories.

What free-to-play accounts can and cannot do

Categories that work in F2P

Runes and staples

Common runes (air, water, earth, fire, mind, chaos, death, law, nature), planks, bows, arrows, and low-tier armour are all F2P-tradeable and see steady daily volume from PvP tournaments, low-level PvM, and skilling.

Ore and bars

Ores (copper through mithril and coal) and their bars sit at the heart of F2P Smithing. Small margins per unit but very high buy limits and daily volume; well suited to filling all 3 GE slots at once.

Common food

Cooked lobsters and swordfish, low-tier fish, food used by low-combat pures. Slim margins, high turnover.

Iconic F2P gear

Rune scimitars, rune 2h, rune armour sets, green dragonhide armour where F2P-tradeable. Bigger absolute margins than raw materials but lower volume; watch spread carefully.

Traps that hit F2P harder

Sensible starting bankrolls

F2P flipping compounds slowly because most items are cheap and margins are small. Realistic milestones are hitting 500k, then 1M, then 5M, growing across days and weeks rather than a single afternoon. Members merching often skips these steps by using higher-value gear flips instead. The plodding compounding is not a bug of F2P flipping; it is the shape of it.

Where GE IQ helps in F2P

GE IQ has an F2P filter that hides members-only items and shows only what your F2P account can actually see and trade. Combine it with a bankroll filter and a stability filter to keep your three slots on flips that fit the account's constraints.
